Repository Templates pre-populate new repositories with a default folder structure and content. This allows you to jump start new projects with document templates, solution files, or shared resources which are commonly used thus ensuring consistency across your organization without introducing bottlenecks or additional management.
Sublime ships with two repository templates but you can easily create your own. Creating a template is as simple as creating a folder structure on your Subversion server, dropping in any files that should be included, and registering the template with Sublime. After that, users will be able to create new repositories pre-populated with the folders and files in your template.
See the administrator guide for more details on how to create and customize your Subversion repository templates.
When users create new subversion repositories in Sublime, they can choose one of the repository templates provided. When selecting a template they can view a brief description of the template, and the folder/file structure that will be created. This helps your users select the appropriate template for their project. The name, description, and folder structure is completely customizable by your server administrator.
In any development organization, consistency across projects is critical for efficiency, easing transitions, and promoting best practices. By providing a consistent repository structure, your developers are able to orient themselves quickly. Furthermore, having access to standard document or code templates ensures everyone is working according to the best practices of your organization.
