Release Notes (version 1.2)

This document covers the release of Sublime version 1.2.

1.2.0 UPDATES

New Features:

  • Path-based Permissions
It is now possible to assign permissions to folders within your repository. This may be accomplished by any repository owner or Sublime administrator by editing the repository permissions, selecting the folder to modify, and picking the users and groups who should have access to that folder.
  • New Dashboard and Personalized RSS feed
The home page for Sublime now displays a dashboard showing all active repositories the current user has access to as well as an activity stream for those repositories. In addition, an RSS feed is available for the activity stream which will include any commit to any repository the user has access to.
  • Active Directory / LDAP Group Support
Administrators may now create “LDAP Groups” which will be synchronized with existing Active Directory user groups. When creating an LDAP Group simply enter the name of an existing Active Directory group, and the new group’s membership will be auto-populated based on the group membership in Active Directory. Sublime will then synchronize this group nightly to ensure that changes made to the Active Directory group are kept in sync with Sublime.
  • Advanced Repository Templates
Repository Templates may now contain special placeholder text which will be replaced by Sublime when new repositories are created. This is useful for customizing the new repository structure or content based on details about the repository. For a new repository called “Widgets”, a file named %repos%.sln will be renamed to Widgets.sln. This works within the contents of the file as well.
  • Create Folders within Sublime UI
It is now possible to create the folder structure which organizes your repositories directly from within the Sublime web interface. This makes it much easier to define a structure for your repositories without having to access the server directly.
  • Bypass Authentication for RSS Feeds
Administrators can now turn off authentication for RSS feeds. This allows users to access their feeds without having to provide credentials. This may be desirable in certain situations as a way to avoid providing a username and password as a part of the RSS feed URL.
  • Enhanced Repository Browser
Browsing repository contents from Sublime is now much more powerful. For each file and folder, the revision number and revision comments are displayed directly in the browser.

Bug Fixes:

  • Performance increased when browsing a folder containing many repositories.
  • Minor UI bug fixes with repository contents browser
  • LDAP Connection now allows a bind username and password which allows the LDAP store to be queried even if Sublime is running under a local system account.

KNOWN ISSUES

  • The service account running Sublime is automatically added to the local administrators group on the server. This is required to run Sublime but will be addressed in the future for enhanced security.
