Release Notes (version 0.7.0)

This document covers the release of Sublime version 0.7.0. Version 0.7.0 is a beta release and will expire on 9/1/2009. However, it may be used without restriction (except those covered in the license agreement) until that time. Please see the limitations and known issues sections below.

0.7.0 UPDATES

New Features:

  • User Groups. Sublime now supports the creation of User Groups which can be used for assigning permissions to repositories. Groups may be nested within other groups to create a permission group hierarchy.
  • Permission Levels. When assigning user or group permissions to a repository, it is now possible to set read-only, read-write, or deny permissions for that user or group.
  • Customize the Help and Resources page. Administrators may now add or remove RSS feeds to the Help and Resources page. The default feeds can be re-positioned on the page, or removed all together. New RSS feeds can be added as well.
  • Repositories may be stored on a network share. By setting the Repository Path to be a network share, Sublime will create and manage repositories on that network share rather than the local server. This is not generally recommended for performance reasons.

Bug Fixes:

  • SVNSERVE is now installed using IPv4 mode. This resolves the issue described in this KB article: http://blog.sublimesvn.com/2009/04/kb-remote-connections-blocked-on-vistaserver-2008/
  • Better support for special characters in repository descriptions.
  • Repository URLs can now be copied to the clipboard in Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari.
  • Backup account is used to validate the backup path. This resolves an issue where if the Sublime service account does not have access to the backup path, Sublime will return an error that the path does not exist even if the backup account does have access to the path.

KNOWN ISSUES

  • The service account running Sublime is automatically added to the local administrators group on the server. This is required to run Sublime but will be addressed in the future for enhanced security.

LIMITATIONS

  • This release of Sublime will expire on September 1st, 2009.
